NEWSMECHANIX is an independent commentary publication devoted to taking apart the news, examining the assumptions behind it, and offering a different reading of the world.

We write about politics, society, culture, ideas, and the human condition with seriousness, curiosity, and occasional mischief.

Our flagship series is SCHOLIA, written by The Scholiast.
